It's been missing for more than a week a K-9 officer from Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department. A week ago, Sgt. Mark Regalado left his home in Premont to go watch the fireworks with his family in Corpus Christi, which is about an hour from his home. He called his supervisor and told him the dog was in his kennel.
When he returned, the kennel was open and the dog was gone. The K-9 officer's name is Ivo. He's worth about $6,000 and is used for narcotics operations.
"He is useless to anyone else," said Sheriff Oscar Lopez in an interview. 'We just want the dog back no questions asked so he can get back to his duties."
Officers searched for the German Shepherd dog for two days around the Premont area. They didn't find the four-year-old K-9 officer or get any leads.
If you know his whereabouts, you can call the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office at 361-664-STOP.
